Zipper knowledge

1. Explanation of terms


1) Zipper

The zipper is a connector which can be repeatedly closed and opened, and is composed of two flexible and mutually meshing single teeth chains.

2) Zipper teeth

The teeth fixed on the edge of the zipper belt by metal and non-metal materials according to laws.

3) Dentin chain

If two matching unilateral teeth are continuously meshed with each other, the two teeth will form a tooth chain.

4) Width of microphone teeth

Across the width between the two engaged teeth, or the width of the foot on which the puller pulls.

5) Pull head

It is a metal or plastic assembly used to pull and open the microphone teeth.

6) Top stop (front code)

The component that prevents the pull head from detaching from the microphone teeth when the zipper is closed.

7) bottom stop (back)

The component installed at one end of the zipper, which prevents the pulling head from sliding towards the pulling direction when the zipper is opened, and prevents the two parts of the microphone teeth from completely separating.

8) Zipper tape

The braid on which the teeth are fixed.

9) Self locking device

A device on the pull head to prevent the pull head from moving along the pull direction of the zipper.

10) Closed zipper

In the fully opened state, the zipper can not be separated from each other by two unilateral teeth.

11) Open zipper

Through the special structure (socket) at the bottom of the zipper, the zipper can be pulled in and out completely.

12) Double zipper

A zipper with two sliders and two opposite directions for the same flexible operation.

2. Common identification methods of zipper quality


1) Tape

The cloth belt shall be dyed evenly, without stain or scar, and soft in hand. In the vertical or horizontal direction, the cloth belt shall be wavy.

2) Teeth

The teeth surface shall be smooth, and the hand feel shall be smooth when pulling, and the noise shall be small.

3) Slider

The self-locking pulling head can be easily opened and locked without sliding.

4) Cloth glue

It is not easy to break or fall off.

5) Pin and box

Insert freely and fasten the cloth belt

6) top stop & bottom stop

The first teeth (metal, nylon) shall be tightly fastened at the top, and the distance shall not exceed 1mm, which shall be firm and perfect.

The lower teeth are fastened to the upper teeth or forceps and are firm and perfect.

What kind of products should zipper be applied to (such as leather case, shoes and boots, ski suit, raincoat, tent, jeans to be washed or leather products with high acidity) or other special requirements;
